Reginald Hill Nature Hike with Dr. Susan Hannon
Garry Oak Ecosystems and Spring Wildflowers

Sunday, May 4, 1:30-4 pm

Join Salt Spring’s expert ecologist and conservation biologist, Dr. Susan Hannon,on an informative and rewarding nature walk up to the summit on Reginald Hill. Susan will discuss the history of our recently-acquired spectacular 161-hectare protected area and join with participants to explore the ecology and biodiversity of its habitats.  This new conservation area features a maturing coastal Douglas-fir forest, Garry oaks, rocky bluffs and multiple wetlands. Be prepared for spectacular spring wildflowers and spectacular views of the Southern Salish Sea from the summit. The hike has a vertical relief of about 200 meters, and will be paced by the explorations and natural history we discover.

The group size is limited to 15. For Nature Salt Spring members only. Registration required by emailing NatureSaltSpring@gmail.com
