Community Bat Ambassador Training!

Nature Salt Spring’s Community Science Bat Program starts with -
BC Community Bat Ambassador Training!

Sunday, April 13, 1 – 3:20 pm

Instructor: Linda Brooymans, Stewardship Manager, Nanaimo & Area Land Trust & Mid-Island Coordinator for the BC Community Bat Program

There are still spaces available in our early afternoon session of BC Bat Ambassador Training. The training will last about 2 hours (with a break for goodies), providing background in bat natural history as well as goals and guidelines for community science bat projects. We’ll learn about the roles of Bat Ambassadors and about the do’s and don’ts of citizen bat observations and action. All who attend will receive a BC Bat Ambassador Certificate.  A great opportunity to meet together to discuss our observations and ideas. Registration Required. The FREE event is limited to Nature Salt Spring Members. (Arrive a little early if you need to get current membership at the event.)

Also, in the evening on April 13th, (and other alternative evenings), we will meet for an hour or so around dusk (8-9 pm for April 13). Details TBA. These  gatherings will be short sessions to learn/practice using the Wildlife Acoustics Echo 2 Ultrasonic Meters.
