An exciting, live fund-raiser for Nature Salt Spring!
Island nature enthusiasts are in for a special treat on April 23 at Fulford Hall when David Hancock, one of Canada’s best–known wildlife biologists and science communicators presents live and in-person: The Amazing Biology of Bald Eagles.
Hancock has revolutionized our understanding of Bald Eagle biology through his decades of research, his scientific and popular writings, and his systems of nest monitoring, web cams, and live-tracking satellite and cell tags. His research has opened the door to people all around the world to participate in bald eagle citizen science by connecting to his Hancock Foundation website. Check out the eagle nest cams!
Hancock has dedicated his life to the study and popularization of wildlife biology. Author of several books about eagles and other wildlife, he publishes a large collection of nature-oriented books at Hancock House Publishing.
The event is sponsored by Nature Salt Spring (NSS) and is both a fund-raiser and membership drive. Admission is $10/person or FREE to NSS Members. Memberships will be available at the door and will count toward your entrance. They are $30 (individual) and $40 (family). You can also sign up now here.
The talk at Fulford Hall, starts at 7:00 pm and doors open at 6:30. Please come early to help us create a smooth flow at the beginning of the event.
****If you are interested in a short talk about bald eagle nests , including viewing an inactive nest, be at the Hall at 6:00 pm for a free gawk and talk session. Families especially will enjoy this part.****
